It was Friday, 1 December 2023, when curious and excited people gathered in the lobby of the GECQ building during lunch time to participate in the charity sale.
Besides GECQ tenants and employees of other companies in the Ecopark there were local residents and kindergarten students, people from Haide Community Neighborhood Committee and the international community participating enthusiastically.
6 companies and 13 private sellers brought Christmas calendars, books, household appliances, tea sets, beer, toys, bags, jewelry, handicrafts, artworks, and more and sold them successfully to the visitors.
Our sponsor Qingdao red rock Hotel has provided participants with the German traditional Stollen, cookies and hot wine for free, adding more festival atmosphere to the event.
We’ve successfully raised a total of 5,362.5 RMB and 43 picture books for the project “Deaf Pride”, supported by the ElringKlinger company, helping 80 children with hearing impairments to build their own picture book library. We will closely follow up and update our readers on the project progress.
